Award winning director talks about his new movie ‘Lottery’.

Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian talks about his new movie Lottery, a Crystal Simorgh nominee.

Two days before the 36th edition of Fajr film festival kicks off, four Iran movies Lottery, Misunderstanding, Woodpecker, and Dirty Work were introduced.

Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian and Mahmoud Razavi who are respectively the director and producer of ‘Lottery’ and two of the cast members attended Mellat cinema complex to present their movie.

Mahdavian, the director, says, ‘They often ask me why I have always made movies about the decades when I was a child, so I didn’t have any personal experience of them. If that is true, the story of this new movie falls in the right time. Besides, I am interested in the topic too.’

To give his audience a mental image, Mahdavian says that his movie is about protective men. He explains how this theme is dominant in his new work. The protagonist of the movie is in pursuit of finding the right way and to do the right thing.

From the same director, Woodpecker will also go on big screen in Fajr Film festival.

Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian has so far taken home Crystal Simorgh twice for two of his works. Once in the 34th edition of the festival, his movie ‘Standing in the Dust’ won the prestigious award. ‘Midday Event’ movie also grabbed four Crystal Simorgh awards in four different categories.
